Sarah Golding Counselling

Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist

I counsel with curiosity

I offer a non-judgmental and calm space for you to explore your current challenges, tell your story or to grow and develop a greater understanding of yourself.

During the day I am a counsellor to children, but sometimes I’ve found the best way to help the child is by supporting the parent. Therefore, my private practice is online in the evenings to fit around childcare.

The journey into and throughout parenthood can have an effect on mental health. For example:

  • Miscarriage and loss
  • Loosing your sense of self in the intense baby years with possible sleep deprivation, conflicting thoughts and feelings about life before, societies pressures on every decision (such as how to feed your baby, where and when the baby sleeps, back to work or stay at home)
  • Any physical, medical or learning disabilities can put a strain on our resources, possible multiple hospital visits, EHCP, maybe changing your dreams and aspirations to suit your child, as well as possibly needing to battle for what your child needs and is eligible for
  • Neurodiversity, whether it’s in the early stages of waiting lists and labels, adapting to different needs within the family unit, or possibly looking into whether you also are neurodivergent
  • Children who are siblings to additional needs
  • Thoughts of your own childhood can be triggered
